Home Again!

The road home!

This is the driveway of Eagle Hill Farm in Kildare. The B&B was very good, and a great way to spend the last night in Ireland – with an Irish family on a working farm. Unfortunately, I left my mobile phone there and I’m still hoping that it will appear one day in the mail!

The trip from Kildare to Dublin is only about an hour’s duration, and it was a good trip in! The motorway took me straight to the hire car company and then a short taxi trip to the airport.

This blog has been about a journey – a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage is a powerful concept that is common to many religions and ideological movements, and denotes more than a holiday. And I feel that this journey has been for me a journey not just to the heart of the Catherine McAuley, but a journey into my own spirituality and religious tradition – both of which I understand better.

It is my hope that I will be able to continue this journey – to take it forward cognisant of the wealth of tradition and heritage that sits behind it. The Mercy Partners story: http://www.mercypartners.org.au will be a continuation of the Catherine McAuley story, and an important part of my continuing journey.

It is my hope also that I will be able to continue this blog – to write the story of the pilgrim.

The road home is just the next small step in this endeavour.
