Nearly twelve months!

Well it is nearly twelve months since I left Brisbane for Ireland. Where has the time gone? The last twelve months has been a great time in many ways, and very challenging in others. I returned from Ireland uplifted by the experience of the spiritual and physical journey. I enjoyed the companions in the group, our interactions and our sense of being on a significant journey together for the good of the ministries which we all serve. And much has happened since!
I was aware during my time in Ireland that my health was not as robust as it should be. I had been suffering terrible headaches – which I had put down to being busy, excited, carrying luggage etc! The headaches persisted well beyond the pilgrimage and eventually I sought a solution. Having said that, I had been complaining about these headaches to my doctor for a good twelve months previously, but with no real relief or diagnosis.
Long story short – I have intercranial hypotension! Caused by a cerebrospinal fluid leak somewhere in my spinal cord. Many MRIs and CT scans later and four epidural blood patches later, and I am beginning to find some relief. Hopefully this will continue. It has been a painful, harrowing and disconcerting time.
